16 Gauge Steel
Steel caskets are manufactured by the thickness of the steel. 16-gauge steel is the thickest steel used for casket manufacturing and is 1/16 of an inch thick. These caskets tend to be the best value in a casket selection because the material used is the thickest available in casket production and they are manufactured with urn-shaped corners without seams to strengthen the design. All 16 gauge caskets are made with velvet interiors.
