Roberta Marie Reid, born July 2, 1950, in New York, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 74. She is survived by her son, Sherman; his wife, Christina; her granddaughter, Arianna; her step-grandson, Justin; her brothers, Gregory and Malcolm; and her beloved cat, Lady TT, who was her loyal companion in her later years. Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ivan and Irene.
Roberta held a Master’s in Education and had a deep passion for studying sign language, a field she not only taught but embraced throughout her life. She worked as a dedicated teacher for the New York City Department of Education for 23 years, where she also taught American Sign Language to her students. A true activist at heart, she also joined the BAT Association in support of teachers and education.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 5 from 3-7pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx.
