Santina Cicino, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on January 16, 2024. She was 77.
Mrs. Cicino was born on December 20, 1946 in Guardavalle, Italy to the late Orlando and Francesca (Riitano) Loiero. She emigrated to New York in 1958 when she was 11 years old with her parents and sisters and brother. She went back to Italy on vacation and met her husband Francesco. They were married in Guardavalle. She loved to take care of her family and spend time with her granddaughters. She liked to tell stories and teach them Italian. She liked to bake especially her famous lemon cookies. She was a kind hearted, feisty lady.
In addition to her husband of 55 years Francesco she is survived by her two daughters Angela Feeney and her husband Shawn and Francesca Verdi and her husband Michael; and her three granddaughters, Olivia Feeney, Brianna Verdi, and Sara Verdi.
Visiting will be Thursday from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1918 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne.
