Carmela Sottile, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was 95.
Mrs. Sottile was born on January 25, 1931 in Messina, Sicily to the late Santo and Sebastiana (Cupano) Coppolino. She is pre-deceased by her husband Carmelo Sottile, who died on April 6, 2003. She is the dedicated mother of Mario, Angela, Santino, Frank, and Liliana; and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She is known for her lasagna, manicotti, spiedini, and meatballs. She loved to laugh and share stories with her family and friends. She will be missed.
Visiting will be Tuesday, July 7 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 8 at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1918 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
