Michelle Collado, affectionately known as Michi, died on April 30th, 2019.
Michelle was a light that was extinguished too soon. She loved fiercely and gave her all to those around her, especially when it came to sharing joy and ensuring people were happy.
When Michelle was 4, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, but from looking at her and the way she lived her life you would never know she lived with a chronic illness. She never let her Diabetes hold her back or hinder her from living her life to the fullest. Michelle loved to go places, whether it be traveling to different countries or driving her car around. She was an explorer who loved the sun, surf, and sand of the beaches, and worked endlessly to achieve the perfect tan. Like the sun, she radiated warmth and joy, with her smiles, laughs, and non-stop jokes.
Michelle was an intelligent, passionate, and independent young woman who worked hard to always give her best. This was seen at work, with friends, and at home. She was quick witted, and used this wit and drive to excel in her career and to keep her friends and family laughing.
Although Michelle has left us on this earth, she lives on in our memories, in the joy she made us feel and in the love that will never end. Her mother and father, Nurys and Raymond Collado, her older sisters Farrah Collado and Shira Collado-Del Rosario, and her loving niece Audrey or (as Michelle would say) her “mini-me” survives her as well as her pets Mozart (cat) and Beethoven (dog). Michelle is also survived by all the people who loved her and were lucky to be touched by her light and warmth, even if only for a short time.
Visiting will be Thursday and Friday from 5-9pm, with a service on Friday at 6:30pm, at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.

Michelle fue una luz que se apagó demasiado pronto. Ella amó ferozmente y le dio este amor a todos los que la rodeaban, especialmente cuando se trataba de compartir alegría y asegurar que las personas fueran felices.

Ella nunca dejó que su diabetes la detuviera o le impidiera vivir su vida al máximo. A Michelle le encantaba ir a lugares, ya sea viajando a diferentes países o manejando su auto. Era una exploradora que amaba el sol, el mar y la arena de las playas, y trabajó incansablemente para lograr el bronceado perfecto. Al igual que el sol, irradiaba calidez y alegría, con sus sonrisas, risas y bromas quo no paraban.
Michelle era una joven inteligente, apasionada e independiente que trabajaba duro para dar siempre lo mejor. Esto fue visto en el trabajo, con amigos y en casa. Ella fue ingeniosa y usó este ingenio para sobresalir en su carrera y para mantener a sus amigos y familiares siempre riendose.
Aunque Michelle nos ha dejado en esta tierra, ella vive en nuestros recuerdos, en la alegría que nos hizo sentir y en el amor que nunca terminará. Su madre y su padre, Nurys y Raymond Collado, sus hermanas mayores Farrah Collado y Shira Collado-Del Rosario, y su sobrina amorosa Audrey o (como diría Michelle) su “mini-yo” la sobreviven y sus mascotas Mozart (gato) y Beethoven (perro). A Michelle también le sobreviven todas las personas que la amaron y tuvieron la suerte de ser tocada por su luz y calidez, aunque solo sea por un corto tiempo.
Las visitas serán los jueves y viernes de 5 a 9 pm, con un servicio el viernes a las 6:30pm, en la Funeraria Joseph A. Lucchese, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. El internamiento será privado.
