Angela Sullivan
September 4, 1962
July 25, 1925
Born and raised in New York City, Angela embodied everything it means to be a true New Yorker- quick witted, independent, passionate, resilient, and full of fire. A lifelong violinist, her music was a gift she shared with all. She was a devoted daughter, a loyal sister, a fiercely loving aunt, and a generous friend who could make you feel like the most important person in the world with a few well chosen words. Her humor was sharp (sometimes biting), her presence electric and her opinions were unapologetically her own. A true film enthusiast, Angela had a quote or reference for nearly every situation. Her affinity for nostalgia reflected her timeless, romantic spirit and deep appreciation for the beauty of the past.
Angela lived boldly on her own terms, with a tender heart for those who needed it most. Angela was a devout Catholic who found deep solace and strength in her faith. Her spirituality guided her to live with compassion, humility, and a charitable heart.
She is survived by her mother, Norma; her aunt, Barbara; her uncle, Eugene; and her siblings: James, Elvira, Dominic, George, Giulia, and Maria. She leaves behind her nieces: Shamie, Noelle, Jennifer, Mari-Elena, Alessandra, Selena, Sabina, Samantha, Lucia, and Juliana; and her nephews: Joey, Johnny, Georgey, Maximilian, Frankie, Benedict, and Sebastian. She was a great-aunt to Jacob, Luca, Blaise, Jozalyn, Karina, Vanessa, Aria, Giana, Vittoria, and Sasha. Angela cherished her cousins Sean, Peter, Debbie, and Kevin; her in-laws: Yuki, Nicholas, Richard, Melanie, Vinnie, Ruben, and Jeanne; and her long-time friends Gail and Christine.
She was predeceased by her partner James Humphrey, and her father, John S. Sullivan.
