Daniel Mendez, a longtime resident of the Bronx, a devoted man of God, husband, father and grandfather,
died on December 31, 2025. He was 81.
Mr. Mendez was born on November 18, 1944 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to the late Hermes Mendez and Petra Mendoza. He worked as a truck driver for 32 years before his retirement and was an ordained evangelical pastor.
He is survived by his wife, Margarita (Rios) Mendez; his children, Nancy Mendez, Aileen Mendez-Ruiz (Mateo Ruiz, Jr.) and Daniel Mendez, Jr. (Geordana Roa); and his grandchildren, Kaylee Morales and Joshua Morales.
Visiting will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9am with the interment following at Rosehill Cemetery, 355 Linden Avenue, Linden, New Jersey.
