Dora (Funai) Virgili, age 94, a long time resident of the Bronx, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 surrounded by family.
Predeceased by her husband Marino, her parents Santino and Rosetta Funai, and her sister Norma Queenan, Dora is survived by her daughters, Josephine McIntyre and her husband John, Rosann Tripoli and her husband Santo; grandchildren Kimberly McIntyre and her husband Evan Heib, Nicole McIntyre, Brandon Tripoli, Nicholas Tripoli; step-grandchildren Larissa Tripoli, and Justin Tripoli; and extended family and dear friends.
Before retirement, Dora worked as a sales clerk at Macy’s in Parkchester, which she enjoyed. Dora loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she helped to raise.
Dora loved to travel, read romance novels, and watch soap operas. Dora loved cats of which she and Rosann had many. Dora will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Visiting will be Wednesday, February 18 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 19 at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1908 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne.
