My Dear Ileana, itā€™s just hard to believe you are not here anymore. I Loved you so much and will never forget you my big sister. My time with you was more than 50 years ago but I never forgot you. I was a lonely little girl that would spend every day in your house and you never rejected me. You always did my hair and taught me so many things. I never stoped missing having you in my life but I would rejoice to see how happy you were thru Facebook. I can not imagine what your Family and close friends are feeling right now but my prayers are with all of them. Until we see you again Ina , love you forever

I remember the day well when I first meet Ileana Perez. I came from Brooklyn to the Bronx that day, I ask for Mrs. Perez, she told me to call her Ileana and I did with ease and comfort as only a good spirit can do, and she was. I was going through a turbulent time my life, but her smile her calmness her laugh made my day brighter. She believed in helping others and allowing others to live their lives. I always asked and looked for Ileana everytime I went to HOGAR for as long as I knew she was there all would be well and it was.
My condolences and Prayers are with her husband and her sons. She was the rock we all clung to in all storms.
Miss Ileana will be missed and forever loved by those she touched.

As I sit here in the Supported Housing Office on a Saturday…

I am just rewinding from the day you interviewed me and how much of a bond we created in such a short time fast forwarding to 17 mos later with H.O.G.A.R. Inc, when I thought I was NOT going to last two weeks but you encouraged me to stay because you knew I could handle it.

When you shared you were ready to retire and I said when you go, I will not stay. Never did I it would be like this. You were one of a kind and can never be replaced.

So off to Ogden I go and you to join our righteous father in the heavens up above to take your rightful seat as one of his Angels.

Thank you for believing in me… Never thought Iā€™d miss you screaming my name across the office! As crazy as it drove me, what I would give to hear you call my name one more time… Until we meet again!

My heartfelt condolences to the Perez family and friends including my team. May God give us all the strength to overcome this grief. Godbless her beautiful soul and good heart.

It really hurts that your gone. I literally go to work each day thinking about a way to make you laugh or mess with you so you throw me out the office. I brag about how many places you have thrown me out of. You was like a mom to me and I’m sorry for all the times I drove you crazy. You supported me through one of the worst times of my life and you kept believing in me that I could be somebody special. You pushed me to go back to school and then you was on top of me to get good grades. We had a million disagreements and arguments but you was the best boss I ever had. I didnt see you as a boss I saw you as family. Thank you for being so good to my mom. She really loves you and is hurting bad that your gone. We all hurting bad now that your gone. I promise to be better and step up my game. From here on out everytime I go to work I’m gonna push myself harder because i know your watching over me. The office won’t be the same without you. I’m going really miss you. My condolences to the Perez family. Thank you so much for sharing her with us. I’m grateful and appreciative. The lessons I learned from her will follow me the rest of my life. Thank you again. I love you boss, be at peace with God.

Iā€™ve known Ileana for 9 years and from the moment she met my son and I when he was only 2 months old, she treated us like family. She was always so full of life and laughter. She was so happy to share new stories about her grandchildren with me all the time. We had amazing conversations which I will always cherish and keep close to my heart.
