Maria Magnarelli

Today it is with a heavy heart that the family of Maria Magnarelli have to announce the passing of their beloved mother. She was a longtime resident of the Bronx who died on February 19, 2022. She was 84.

Mrs. Magnarelli was born on October 28, 1937 in Italy to the late Cristoforo and Maddalena (Del Prete) Tartarone. She worked as a seamstress from a young age in Italy and was a housewife in the United States. Heaven gained another angel today. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and most importantly a friend to all. She had a way of lighting up the room whenever she walked in and made sure to let everyone know she was there. The most important thing to her was family. Her family was everything to her and that is what she lived for everyday. She brought joy and happiness into all our lives with her quick wit and one liners. Her soul is at peace now and will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband Nazzareno Magnarelli; her children, Maria Magnarelli-Benevento and Gerardo Magnarelli; and her granddaughter, Gulianna.

Visiting will be Tuesday from 4-9pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1918 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
