Nicoletta Ferrara, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on September 20, 2018. She was 76.
Mrs. Ferrara was born on March 7, 1942 in Agerola, Italy to the late Antonio and Adelina (Criscuolo) Imperati. For many years before her retirement she worked as a dietary aide at Westchester Square Hospital. On December 6, 1960 she married Luca Ferrara. He died in 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Gersten; her son, Nicholas Ferrara; her grandchildren, Lucas and Gina Gersten, Nicholas Ferrara, Jr., Christopher Ferrara, and Michael Ferrara; her great-grandchildren, Adalina Gersten, Ava Gersten, and Luca Gersten; her brothers, Matteo Imperati, Sabato Imperati, and Silvio Imperati; and her sisters, Camille Avitabile and Emanuela Florio. She is pre-deceased by her sister Elena Cuomo.
Visiting will be Monday 2-5 & 7-9pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10am at St. Dominic’s Church, 1743 Unionport Road, Bronx. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale.
