Yolanda “Kitty” Canales-Schumann, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away on August 23, 2025. She was 81.
Born and raised in New York, Yolanda was a lifelong New Yorker whose warmth, kindness, and laughter left a lasting mark on everyone she met. She was the heart of her family — a devoted wife to Kurt, a loving mother to Sheena, Kurt Jr., and Samantha, and a proud grandmother to Eva and Mia.
Family and friends are invited to honor her life at a visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York. Interment will be private.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and cherished always.
