    Dear Aunt Lidia,
thank you for the woman you have been, for what you always represented first to Dad, who always loved and adored you,
    and then to us grandchildren.
I vividly remember the esteem and love Dad had for you and his joy every time he left for New York to embrace you again.

Unfortunately, I also vividly remember his cry of pain and sadness when we received the sad news of Uncle Giovanni’s passing, your beloved Gianni,
with whom you created a beautiful family from which, until the very end, you received all the love possible and imaginable,
from your wonderful son and daughters and adored grandchildren.

Thank you for what you did for my brother first, and especially for me when I came to New York, i felt home.
I’m truly sorry for not always behaving well with you when I was there in New York, but those are mistakes that you understand only as you grow.
But I’ve always understood and felt the generous, determined, tireless, and sunny woman you were, with all your charm, and I will carry
    that in my heart forever.
One day, i’m sure that we will meet again, all together with Uncle Giovanni, Mom, and Dad, and I will have the chance to embrace you once again and maybe
even taste that wonderful turkey that only you knew how to cook that way.
I deeply regret not having introduced you to Arianna Karol and Rosanna. The many events, some negative, made that trip impossible to me,
a trip I so much wanted to see you again.
But they know who you are and what you have represented and still represent for all of us because your love, your teachings and your example will live forever.
    I love you.
Wherever you are, I send you a kiss and a big hug
