Carlos Perez, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on January 28, 2024. He was 74.

Mr. Perez was born on May 9, 1949 in New York City to the late Domingo and Monserrate (Roa) Perez. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War as a Radio Operator from 1969-1970 and spent years in the Army Reserve as a Chemical Operations Specialist. He was a proud and dedicated New York City Sanitation worker until his retirement after 19 years. He was also a part of the DSNY 9/11 Rescue and Recovery Unit. Upon his retirement he volunteered his time at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx. He was an active member of the Hispanic Society and the American Legion.

Mr. Perez is survived by his wife, Ana Perez; his sister, Lillian Adorno; his children, Yasmin Perez and her husband Jose Martinez, and Michael Perez and his wife Araceli Perez; his grandchildren, Mariah Rivera, Isabella Rivera, Keyra Perez, Ashlyn Perez, Jamie Martinez, and Dylan Martinez; and countless nephews and nieces and the love for his close friends and family alike.

Visiting will be Monday from 4-8pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx.
