Celia Angelica Baluja died on March 26, 2024. She was 98.
Mrs. Baluja was born on May 6, 1925 in Havana, Cuba to the late Felix Arguelles and Ana Maria Ortiz. She was a lifelong resident of the Bronx, having moved to Staten Island (kicking and screaming) 4 1/2 years ago.
Visiting will be Friday from 4-8pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10am at Holy Rosary Church, 1510 Adee Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street, Rye. In lieu of flowers, because of Angelica’s lifelong commitment to animals and animal welfare, please consider donating to the Humane Society, Bideawee, or any animal charity of your choice in her honor and memory.
My condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Angelica. She was a lovely lady and it was so nice to have met her and spent time with her. May she rest in peace.
