Daniel Zapata Lopez, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on April 30, 2026. He was 85.
Mr. Zapata Lopez was born on January 3, 1941 in the Dominican Republic to the late Juan Zapata and Ana Lopez. He worked as a police officer before emigrating to the United States. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lidia; his three children, Daniel, Juan, and Ana Maria; his brother, Juan Zapata; his three sisters, Andrea, Juanita and Ydalia Mireya; and his five grandchildren, Mia Valentina, Oscar Daniel, Manuel Eduardo, Juan Sebastian and Thea Ann.
Visiting will be Tuesday, May 5 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.
