Doris Bonini, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on December 8, 2023. She was 91.
Mrs. Bonini was born on January 14, 1932 in New York City to the late Leone and Louise Costa. She was an avid bowler who bowled for over 20 years at the Van Nest Lanes on the Dynamic Women Bowling League. For many years she worked for and eventually became owner of the Van Nest 5 & 10. She was always on the go and never sat still having a love for dancing, playing slot machines, doing jigsaw puzzles and was a fabulous cook.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie and her husband Steve; her daughter Andrea and her husband Chuck; her grandchildren, Michael, Julianne and Christopher; and her great-grandchild Cassie. She is predeceased by her husband William who died in 2011.
Visiting will be Thursday 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, East 233rd Street and Webster Avenue, Bronx.
