Flora Mary Vazquez, age 96, passed away peacefully February 19, 2025 due to complications from pneumonia coupled with congestive heart failure.

She was born September 23, 1928 in the Bronx to Ricardo and Dora Carazo. Flora exemplified what it was like to be a homemaker working tirelessly to maintain a home for her late husband, Abraham “ Freddy “ and their five children. In the early 80’s she relocated to Florida for six years before returning home to her beloved roots of the Bronx. Soon after her return home she was employed as a telephone operator for Swiss Bank Corporation.

All who loved her dearly will never forget her impeccable smile, quick wit and love for coffee and the New York Yankees.

She will be sorely missed by many especially her son(s) Bobby; and his daughter Destiny along with great granddaughter’s, Catalya “Cat” and Viviana; Vinny; and his two sons, John and Eric along with their mother and brother Doni and Davey; Johnny; and his wife, Hanna and their three children, Oliver, Annika and Erica. Along with her daughter(s) Virginia; her son, Anthony and daughter, Samantha as well as their father, Ernesto. Flora; and her four children , Mario, Chazz, Gianna and Madison.

Rest in peace Mama Flora.

Mrs. Vazquez was always a joy to be with. She was my mom’s bestie and she did love her coffee. Too bad my mom only had instant to give Flora. She did have a wonderful smile and I can still hear her wonderful laugh. My deepest sympathy to the Vazquez family. Rest in peace Mrs. Vazquez……Flora
