Gloria Rodriguez sadly passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Calvary Hospital on January 17th 2022.
Gloria was born Gloria (Goyita) Vazquez to Tomas Vazquez and Maria Rivera on May 10, 1928 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. She was the second of two children, sister to Fidel who sadly predeceased her. Gloria arrived in New York City in 1952 and settled in Manhattan. She lived in the Bronx the past 35 years. Gloria was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie Rodriguez and his wife Tina, and James Rodriguez; as well as grandchildren Kenneth, George Michael, George James, Mike and Nadia; great grandchildren Melissa, Nolan, Janessa, Anisah, Anelise and Anthony.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4-8pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York 10462. Family and friends wishing to attend the services virtually can click the following link at any time between the visiting hours Rodriguez Visitation Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Ave, Bronx, New York 10462. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, New York 10465. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
