It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of John P. ONeill, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. John was born on September 30, 1949 in the Bronx, NY and passed away on May 22, 2021. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served honorably in the United States Navy from 1969-1975. John is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Jack; and his brothers, Edward (Geraldine) and Dennis (Jane). He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Denise; children, Christopher and Lisa (Dennis); and his sister, Margaret Campbell (Michael). He will be sorely missed by his ever-present Yorkshire Terrier, and best friend of the last 13 years, Kallie.
John was incredibly selfless, and kindhearted. He always went out of his way to help those in need. He enjoyed freshwater fishing, and was notably skilled when it came to fabricating, building and refurbishing anything from wood to metal; from plumbing to electrical work, he had a true gift. John was a friend to all, and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1703 Lurting Avenue, Bronx. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to the ASPCA in John’s memory.
