
Jose M. Ocasio, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on July 17, 2024. He was 79.
Mr. Ocasio was born on January 20, 1945 in Puerto Rico to the late Manuel Ocasio and Providencia Rodriguez. He worked in the garment industry for over 25 years and enjoyed fishing, bicycle fabrication, painting, reading, and playing dominoes.
Mr. Ocasio is survived by his wife, Edith Ocasio; sister, Ana Ocasio; children, Edith Rosado, Daisy Ocasio, and Jose Ocasio; son and daughter-in-law, Elvin Rosado and Carolyn Matos; grandchildren, Matthew Rosado, Isaiah Salvador, Samantha Salvador, Madison Rosado, Alexandria Ocasio, and Ethan Ocasio; great-grandchildren, Marisol Rosado, Giovanni Rosado, Eliza Salvador, and Zariah Rosado; as well as nieces and nephews: Jose Velazquez, Maribel Velazquez, Ralph Velazquez, Edward Velazquez, and Myrna Rivera, along with their children.
Visiting will be Sunday from 4-8pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Family and friends wishing to attend the visitation virtually may do so by clicking the following link at any time during the visiting hours Ocasio Virtual Visitation Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10am at St. Lucy’s Church, Bronxwood and Mace Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
