Joseph A. Fiore

Joseph A. FioreJoseph A. Fiore, a resident of Greenwich, Connecticut and formerly of the Bronx, died on January 29, 2019. He was 96.

Mr. Fiore was born on May 2, 1922 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Rosaria (DiFilippo) Fiore. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army’s 63rd Infantry Division (“Blood and Fire”) in the European Theater during World War II where he was awarded a Purple Heart and well as many other awards and citations.

He is survived by his daughter Jolinda Fiore of White Plains; his sisters-in-law, Roberta, Paula, Tiana; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Marianna (DiBella) Fiore; his son Rocco J. Fiore; and his siblings, Rocco, Adams, Mary, Antoinette, Jennie, Louis, Vincent, and Salvatore.

Visiting will be Sunday 2-7pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx. In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions to either the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/) or the Disabled American Veterans (https://www.dav.org/).
