Joseph James Carpenter

Joseph James Carpenter, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on April 6, 2021. He was 83.

 

Mr. Carpenter was born on November 12, 1937 in New York City to the late Herbert and Theresa (Walsh) Carpenter. He served in the US Army from 1961 to 1967. On November 12, 1961 he married Margaret Savoia. She died on September 10, 2013. For many years before his retirement he worked as a doorman for Local 32BJ.

 

He is survived by his daughter Michele Ann Mannarino and her husband Eugene; her son Joseph James Carpenter, Jr. and his wife Theresa; his granddaughter Stephanie Carpenter; his brothers, Ronald Carpenter and his wife Barbara, William Carpenter and his wife the late Lorraine, Raymond Carpenter and his wife Eleanor, Michael Carpenter, and Donald Carpenter and his wife the late Vicky; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sister Joan Carpenter and his brothers Peter and Richard Carpenter.

 

Visiting will be Friday from 4-9pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Family and friends who would like to attend the visitation virtually may click the following link at any time during the visitation hours Carpenter Virtual Visitation  Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 1639 Parkview Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
