Joseph P. Carey, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died on April 5, 2018. He was 66.
Mr. Carey was born on May 19, 1951 in Watertown to the late Patrick and Phyllis (Mara) Carey. For many years before his retirement he worked in the private sanitation industry. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Carey-Torres and Lisa Carey; and his grandchildren, Jayla Ortiz, Destiny Torres, and Jaime Ortiz, Jr.
Visiting will be Tuesday 4-8pm, with a service at 7pm, at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society or the Catholic War Veterans.
