Livio Fragola, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on December 19, 2022. He was 84.
Mr. Fragola was born in the small town of Castello del Matese, Province of Caserta, Italy on December 19, 1938 to the late Michele and Filomena (Grillo) Fragola. He moved to Waltham Cross, London, England and lived there for 9 years before moving to the United States in 1969. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and was one of the founding brothers of Figli di Castello del Matese Italian social club in the Bronx. He loved to watch soccer and loved watching his grandsons play sports- he was their #1 fan. Livio loved decorating his house for Christmas. He worked as a chef at J.P. Morgan until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his wife Iolanda; his daughter Rosetta and her husband Jimmy; his son Michael and his wife AnnaMaria; his grandsons Vincent, Andrew, and Christopher; and his siblings, Pietro, Giuseppe and Nina Fragola. He is pre-deceased by his siblings, Vincenzo and Luisa Fragola.
Visiting will be Thursday, December 22 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 23 at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1075 Rhinelander Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale.
