Luciano Barone, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away on January 31, 2025.
Luciano was born in Carolei, a small town in Calabria, which was always close to his heart, to the late Luigi and Ida (Valentini) Barone. He came to America in the early seventies. He married his middle school sweetheart, Franca and they had two sons, Luciano and Marco. He was the proud owner of Luciano’s Pizzeria on Morris Park Avenue. He was loved by everyone and was known for his big heart. He had a few difficult years but the birth of his three grandchildren brought joy back to his life. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, Luciano, Gia, and Carmine. He will always be in our hearts and his memory will live on with us forever.
Visiting will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1918 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in his memory to Autism Society

My deepest sympathies to the family. I feel very sad. My favorite pizzeria and friend in the neighborhood. Rest in Peace.
Luciano probably never realized it but he was a big part of my life. We worked together 40 years ago. He taught me so many things that shaped me and many of which I still use in my life today. I thank him for instilling in me a work ethic that I have subsequently instilled in my sons. I owe a great deal to this very good man. Rest in peace my friend, I will never forget you!
To his family- You are in my prayers

So sorry to hear of Luciano’s passing. We met many years ago at my daughters school when we had a party scheduled on the last day & the persons who were supposed to provide the food failed to come through & the Priest called Luciano & within less than an hour we had a dozen pizza pies in our class & when the parents gathered funds together he would not hear of taking it & told us to enjoy. Since that time, many of our parents patronized Luciano’s until this day. Rest Easy Luciano, A job well done
