I did not have the pleasure of meeting Maria, however I am very close with her son Robert who has had a profound positive affect on my life. I know that comes from amazing parents and a family that was well loved. God Bless you Maria and the lives you have touched.

I miss you Nonna. I can’t wait to get to Heaven and see you already. I am sure that Jesus wanted to try your pasta as soon as you got there. We will all do our best to make you proud here on earth until we can get to Heaven and hug you again. I love you Nonna, and I will see you again soon. Life is short compared to the length of eternity. Rest, be at peace and enjoy the beauty of Heaven Nonna.

Deepest condolences to the family on Maria’s passing, from the Clarke family. She and Alfonso were our next door neighbours in Sioux Lookout when she first came to Canada, she was such a beauty. My youngest sister Marianne was a playmate to John and Susan or Johnny and Suzy as we knew them then. I like to think of Alfonso and Maria being reunited.

Words can not fully express how sad we are about the passing of Zia Maria. She was a gentle, kind, generous and pure soul. She had an infectious laugh that could a smile of anyone’s face.
We know that the gates of heaven were wide open for her entry. Our love and prayers go out to Susie, John, Tony, Robert and the rest of the family. May the endearing memory of your sweet mother remain with you always. Rest In Peace Zia. Love Always, Diane and family

Our heartfelt condolences to everyone in the family on the passing of your Mother. Zia Maria exemplified the classic traditions of an Italian Calabrese family which included loving devotion to her husband, the late Alfonzo, her children, her parish church, friends, her garden and home. Santino, Nancy and children will always have fond memories of our time with Zia Maria in Sioux Lookout.

Words are hard to come by at this moment with the passing of our beloved Zia Maria. We will miss her smile, her stories, her zest for life and her love for her family.
She came to Canada, settled in Sioux Lookout with her beloved brothers Emilio, Vincenzo, Albino and sister Ana. They took a leap of faith into a new country with a strong faith in God and devotion to family.
You will always be close to our hearts and we cherish every moment we spent with you.

Heaven has accepted an angel…zia Maria you were taken to be with someone who needed you more.
The Carbone’s have lost another way too soon. The Carbone family will miss her immensely, she was a mother to all of us growing up & especially to my sister & I when our mother was also taken at an early age.
Zia Maria always knew how to make a house a home, we felt at home when we visited Sioux Lookout every year & that didn’t stop when she relocated to the Bronx to start a new life with zio Alfonzo & the kids.the kitchen was open any time of the day or night & just like a Carbone she was a fantastic cook, her pastaciutta was my favorite.
    I will miss her..
Ciao Zia te voglio tanto bene
Susie, John, Tony, Robert & the family, our hearts go out to you for your loss, may you find solitude to know she is also with family.
    Love Aldo & Debbra Carbone
