Born in Molfetta (Bari), Italy on September 29th, 1939. Maria Gadaleta passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2023 in her home in the Bronx, New York with family by her side.
Maria often shared memories of growing up in a large family on a farm in Italy. After marrying her childhood sweetheart, Paolo in 1961, they began a new chapter of their lives as they moved to New York. Maria was a talented designer and a seamstress and created bridal gowns for many years, all while raising two children. Maria and Paolo eventually bought a home in Morris Park, where countless meals, celebrations and memories have been cherished with loved ones.
Maria is survived by her two children, Peter (Jeannette) and Lucia (Steven), six grandchildren Nicholas, Julia, Paul, Mark, Jessie and Brianna, her siblings, Nancy and Mario, as well as many other family and friends.
Visiting will be on Friday from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00am at St. Clare’s Church, 1027 Rhinelander Avenue, Bronx, NY 10462. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY, 10532.
We will always remember the many memories she shared with us. Maria led by example, to be loving, resilient, and to cherish family time. Rest in peace with all the angels.
