Maria Mazzella, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on January 1, 2025. She was 96.
Mrs. Mazzella was born on September 8, 1928 in Ponza, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Candida Mazzella. She is survived by daughters, Lina (Pat) Mazzella and Anna Kellett; her son-in-law, William Kellett; her grandsons, Thomas and Robert Kellett; and Megan Kellett, Thomas Kellett’s wife, and whom she considered her only granddaughter.
Visiting will be Sunday from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1703 Lurting Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
She was a dear Aunt who will always be remembered by all of us for her wit and laughter, her prodigious memory and stories of days gone by, her kindness and goodwill, and her big and warm heart. We are grateful for the times we shared and will truly miss her.
