Our loving mother Marie passed away on August 12, 2024 at 88 years old. She was born on November 11th, 1935 to parents Michael and Emma Pacifico and was a life-long resident of The Bronx, New York. She was married for 49 years to her love, Nicholas Galotti, who preceded her in death.
As a Mother, she was a hands-on stay-at-home mom who always loved having all of her kids around her. She was a great listener and always provided a safe space for her kids to open up about their feelings. As a Grandmother she was someone who was always there, whether it be showing up to all of the kids’ activities, always answering the phone for advice or good gossip or making sure we never left her house with an empty stomach. All of her grandchildren considered her a second mother.
She was the best friend and mother to her 6 children Patty (Billy) Shaffer, Cathy Sullivan, Donna (Pete) Kincman, Michele Rozar, Christine Galotti, Nicholas (Rita) Galotti. She is predeceased by her son-in-law John Sullivan. She was a loving “G” to her 9 grandchildren – Miranda, Chelsea (Brendon), Samantha, Sherilyn (Jonathan), John, Gregory, Kristen (John), Michael, Nicholas and great grandchildren Emma, Isla, and Maxwell.
Marie was known for her hilarious one-liners, meals that tasted like a warm hug and the way she made everyone in her orbit feel so loved. She was the heart and soul of our family and she will be greatly missed.
Visiting will be Friday from 4-9pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1918 Paulding Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.

I have never met Marie but I work with her daughter Donna and I feel like I know Marie through Donna. My conversations with Donna about her beautiful mom and family make me cry and laugh at the same time. This is such a loving family and it gives me some comfort that Donna is surrounded by her loving family and beautiful siblings at this time. Donna, our hearts are with you.
I am heartbroken for you all. Marie was a beautiful, kind person and will be sorely missed! My first memory of Marie is when she invited my sister and I to her house to watch the airing of the Flying Nun (yes, we old) with Patti, Cathy and Donna. My sincere condolences to all of you
