Maximo Alberto Moore Nuñez, 82, passed away peacefully at home the afternoon of August 20th.
Maximito, as he was lovingly known, was born on June 7th, 1942 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Mercedes and Maximo Moore. The oldest of six children: Maria Isabel (Gruber); late Virginia; Ercilia (Anderson); Mercedes Maria; Luis.
Maximito immigrated to the United States, served in the US Army for a short period of time and later earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University of New York. He greatly enjoyed baseball, classical music and food.
Maximo is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Migdalia , son Maximo Alberto and wife Melissa (Parry), daughter Melissa Altagracia (Lebron) and husband José Antonio , stepsons Edwin and Carlos Saldaña, his nine grandchildren, Sofia, Eva, Maria Elena, Diego, Max, Olivia, Emilio, Carlo, and Mateo, and extended family members.
Maximo’s keen intellect and curiosity drove him to be a lover of learning. An avid reader, he often gravitated to science-based suspense novels. Maximo was also an amazing cook who loved his time in the kitchen, mastering dishes in a moment’s notice.
In short, Maximo was a man of immense wisdom who cherished spending time with his loved ones. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was cherished deeply and will be missed.
Visiting will be Friday from 10am to 12pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.
