Michele Simone, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully in his home on October 5, 2023, after a long illness at the age of 83. He resided in the Bronx with his wife, Antonietta Simone of 57 years.
Michele was born in Castel Baronia, Avellino, Italy on January 30, 1940. He came to the United States in 1953 with his parents Vito Simone and Concettina Cafaro along with his two younger brothers, Domenico and Vincenzo in search of a better life. They settled in the Bronx where the rest of his father’s family resided.
In 1964 while visiting relatives in his hometown of Italy, he met the love of his life, Antonietta Primavera. They had an overseas courtship for three years and eventually married on February 19, 1966 and have been together for 57 years.
Michele was a pizza man at age 15 and later on became a handyman at Parkchester Management for nearly 30 years. He was very proud of his Italian Heritage especially the music and the food. He also loved the American culture especially his western movies. He was a kind and gentle man to everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Antonietta, his three children Concettina Simone and her fiancé Michael Truscello, Ursola Simone and her husband Daniel Altieri and his youngest daughter, Maria Simone.
He is also survived by his three beautiful grandchildren- Nicholas Altieri, Paul Altieri, Marie Altieri and his precious great grandson, Colson Altieri.
Visiting will be Monday, October 9 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 10 at 10am at St. Clare’s Church, 1027 Rhinelander Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale.
