Nelson Ruiz, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on November 5, 2018. He was 72.
Mr. Ruiz was born on April 17, 1946 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Isidoro and Gloria (Padilla) Ruiz. For many years before his retirement he worked as a bus driver for Consolidated Bus Co.
He is survived by his companion, Mirtha Irizarry; his daughters, Michelle Gonzalez and her husband Edward and Iris Rey and her husband Timothy; his grandchildren, Mia Rey, Kylee Rey, Corey Gonzalez, Monica Gonzalez, and Brandon Gonzalez; his brother, Isidoro Ruiz, Jr.; and his sisters, Gladys Echevarria and Iris Ruiz.
Visiting will be Wednesday 4-8pm, with a service at 7pm, at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will take place on Saturday 10am at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx.
