Nina Kay Mackey, a longtime resident of Stony Point, died on February 7, 2025. She was 60.
Nina was born on January 1, 1965 in Wellsville, New York. She loved life, her family, and animals- and had many pets throughout her life. She greatly enjoyed taking care of and feeding wildlife. She had a passion for riding her motorcycle. Having been diagnosed with cancer approximately seven years ago she fought very hard- outlasting every prediction the doctors ever made. She never gave up hope.
She is survived by parents, Ken and Judy Planck; her brothers and sisters, Glenn Planck, Lynn Hegewald, Alane Judkins, Tammy Marshall, Dale Stuck, and Joe Planck; her daughter, Rebecca Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In her memory donations may be made to your local animal shelter.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date.
Nina,
You were a mother to me for 5 years when I needed help the most in my teenage years. I have so many fun memories that we shared together. Living with you, working with you and always laughing. We lost touch when I grew up and had 4 sons. I always looked for you and finally found you on Facebook. It was like we were never apart. I am incredibly thankful to have shared time with you in the last few years of your life. I have never seen someone fight off cancer like you all the way to the bitter end. You loved life, your family, your fur babies, your friends, and me that you loved like a daughter. Thank you Jesus for bringing us together because there is no one like her. Now you’re our angel that will remind us to fight during tough bouts in life. God Bless you and especially you Tammy. I love you.
My sincerest, heartfelt condolences to the family.
May you rest in peace…my forever love.
Nina you were a beautiful free spirt with a zest for life. You wanted so bad to come to my wedding. It was beautiful and I felt your spirit. Sleep well with God and the angels. I will look up to the heavens and see you smiling down.
Nina, what a friend you were! We were always there for each other when we needed one another the most. During your battle with the dreaded “c” we were reunited again in our battle with the same disease. We prayed together often we encouraged one another always and we loved each other. I thank the Lord God Almighty that we were family. Not in blood, but in love. I’m also glad that God let us say our goodbyes. We were so blessed to tell you we love you for the last time. Reat in the bosom of Jesus Christ until we meet again ❤️
Nina was a true love person, the first day I met her here in fl where she lived for awhile. Loved her the first time we met. A lot of great Memories we all will miss your Beautiful smile, until we meet again
My condolences to her family. May she shine as bright in heaven as she did on earth. ❤️
