Rosa Corso, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away on February 7, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. She was 77 years old.
Rosa was born on October 5, 1944 in Vieste, Italy. She married her husband Michael in 1968 before arriving in America to start a new life and family in the Bronx.
She is predeceased by her parents Michele (Michael) and Filomena Catanese and siblings Cecilia, Michelina, and Francesco. She is survived by her 2 brothers, Giovanni and Pietro, along with her husband of 54 years and children…Maria Vittoria (Vicky) with husband Scott, Filomena with husband Donato and their 3 children, Roseanne (with husband Anthony and son, Dominic), Anthony, and Nicholas, daughter Antonella with husband Robert, and son Vincent with wife Diane and their 3 children, Leo, Chloe, and Sophie. ALL of whom she adored and loved very much!
Rosa also leaves behind numerous cherished family members both in America and Italy who she was always proud of being connected with as a sister-in-law, Zia, or cousin.
Rosa was a care-taker to all she knew, as well as a loving Nonna, who TRULY ADORED her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She enjoyed being together and always looked forward to spending time as a family. She will be extremely missed by all.
Visiting will be Saturday from 3-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1703 Lurting Avenue, Bronx. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, East 233rd Street and Webster Avenue, Bronx.
