Rosemarie Patricia Ferrara, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on April 18, 2026. She was 78.
Ms. Ferrara was born on December 2, 1947 in Brooklyn to the late Santo and Gloria (Chimento) Ferrara. Before her retirement she worked for the New York State Attorney General’s Office for over 25 years. Rosemarie was a cherished mother, grandmother, family member and friend. Her gentle spirit and generous heart made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She filled her days with love, laughter, and compassion, creating memories that her family & friends will hold close forever. Though she has left this world, her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Sean Barnes and Nicole Barnes; her daughter-in-law, Lori Barnes; her siblings, Francis Luca and John Ferrara; her grandchildren, Dimitri, Shauna, Aiden, Madison, Gianna and Evan; and a host of extended family, friends, and all of her Godchildren.
Visiting will be Saturday, April 25 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.
