Susan Mary Rinsdale Limratana, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away on March 24, 2024. She was 70.

Susan was born on December 26, 1953 in Bay Shore, Long Island to William C. and Joan (Delaney) Rinsdale. She attended St. Francis Xavier School in the Bronx and graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School where she played clarinet in the band. Susan then became a Registered Nurse and later entered the Police Academy. After 20 years of service she retired from NYPD at the rank of Sergeant.

Sue enjoyed sewing and made quilts for everyone. She loved gardening and took pride in her irises and lilies. Her family remembers the tender care she gave to family graves with her flowers and perennials. Sue’s backyard tomatoes were enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors.

Sue loved riding the NYC Ferry to Manhattan and out to Rockaway. After her trip to Australia, Sue always spoke of the mystical morning as the sun rose over Ayer’s Rock.

Sue was always a champion of the underdog. Her keen wit and sense of humor brought laughter to all who knew her.
Sue always kept in close touch with her friends and family. A special part of each day was spending time with her great nephew. She is survived by her son, William Limratana.

Susan returned to live in the Morris Park neighborhood where she grew up to care for her mother. Her generosity and kindness were shown to all who knew her and will miss her dearly.

Visiting will be Tuesday from 9am to 10:30am at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Family and friends wishing to attend the visitation virtually may do so by clicking the following link at any time during the visiting hours Limratana Virtual Visitation Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1703 Lurting Avenue, Bronx. Interment will be private.

    What a beautiful sister and so young! May peace be upon you knowing she’s with our Lord Jesus in paradise! You were all such close sisters, many beautiful memories to look back on. You both are in my prayers!
