Walter P. Rodstrom passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY, surrounded by his loving family. He was 65 years old.

Son of the late Charles W. Rodstrom, Jr. and Arline Barnett Rodstrom, he was born on City Island, NY on April 16, 1960 and grew up in Monroe, NY. Walter retired in 2025 after 40 years in finance.

Walter was a beloved member of the City Island community, serving for many years as coach with the City Island Little League and Pelham Bay Belles, Saint Mary’s CYO basketball, and Committee Member with Boy Scout Troop 211. He was an outdoorsman and avid athlete, enjoyed sailing, kayaking, racquetball, hiking, travel and spending quality time with family and friends. He was an Eagle Scout and lived by the Scout motto “Be Prepared.”

He is survived by his wife, Rose Rodstrom; son Justin Rodstrom and wife Nicole of Middletown, DE; son Matthew Rodstrom and wife Lisa of Pine Island, NY; daughter Chelsea Allen and husband Matthew of Cincinnati, OH; daughter Rebecca Rodstrom and fiancé Jason Maierhofer of Chicago, IL; and grandchildren James, Benjamin, Henry, Isolde, Charlotte, Theodore, and Ethan.

Wake will be held from 4-8 pm on Monday, April 6 at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, 1121 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 7 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, 596 City Island Avenue, Bronx, NY.

Interment will take place in Pelham Cemetery, City Island NY on Tuesday, April 7 immediately following funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the American Brain Tumor Association
